Walking Historical & Food Tours Showcase Bradenton Restaurants
These three-hour tours explore Old Main Street restaurants and history Wednesdays and the Village of the Arts Thursdays.

BRADENTON, FL — Walking Historical & Food Tours offers weekly tours exploring two downtown Bradenton neighborhoods.
Each tour, organized by Taste Dining and Travel, visits a mix of historic buildings (and those with unique architecture), restaurants, art galleries and shops.
On Wednesday afternoons, “discover Old Main Street in a river town with a dynamic history,” the tour company’s website said. Stops include a 1926 shopping arcade, a Carnegie library and century-old buildings.

Sample chef specialties at Sage Biscuit Café at 1401 Manatee Ave. West and enjoy desserts from Sugar Cubed artisan bakery at 531 13th Street West.
Meet at the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature at 201 10th Street West at 1 p.m. for a full tour. Cost is $50 and includes entry to the museum and food from each restaurant.

The other tour offering explores the Village of the Arts, which offers “a charming mix of art galleries and shops in houses built from 1920 to 1930 that are now brimming with creativity,” the tour company said.
Sample menu items during meet and greets at Birdrock Taco Shack (1004 10th Ave. West), Ortygia (1418 13th Street West) and Cottonmouth (1114 12th Street) or Sugar Cubed.
Meet at Motorworks Brewing at 1014 9th Street West at 1 p.m. and enjoy a craft beer tasting at the end of the tour. Cost is $45 and includes food samplings from each restaurant and the craft beer tasting.
Menu items vary during each tour and dietary restrictions can’t be accommodated, the tour company said.
