PALMETTO, FL — The city of Palmetto’s annual free Fourth of July Festival is back after the COVID-19 pandemic canceled last year’s event.

The festival, organized by the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency, will take place July 4 at Sutton Park, 1036 6th Street W., overlooking the Manatee River, according to a Facebook post by the CRA.

This year’s event brings a big name in country music to Manatee County. Wynonna Judd will headline the festival with her new band, The Big Noise. They’ll take the stage at 7 p.m.

Fireworks, funded through a partnership between Manatee County and the cities of Bradenton and Palmetto, will follow the concert.

Coolers with drinks are permitted at the Fourth of July festival, but no alcohol is allowed, the CRA said.

Local food and beverage vendors can apply to be a part of the festival. Vendor applications are due June 15 and can be found online here.
