Ehrlich Road Closed Near Veterans Expressway
Motorists are being asked to avoid Ehrlich near the expressway and may also want to steer clear of a section of Gunn Highway this weekend.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking motorists to steer clear of Ehrlich Road near the Veterans Expressway for the duration of the weekend.
The Florida Department of Transportation has closed the road to work on the bridge expansion, the sheriff’s office said. No traffic is being allowed under the Veterans Expressway.
“Traffic is allowed up to the intersection and will have to U-turn to go back in the opposite direction (only southbound ramp to the Veterans Expressway is allowed when eastbound on Ehrlich Road and only northbound when west on Ehrlich Road at that point),” the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.

The northbound on-ramp to the Veterans Expressway from Gunn Highway is also closed. In addition, Gunn Highway is restricted to one lane in each direction due to the ongoing Hillsborough County water pipeline construction project.
Motorists are asked to take different routes to avoid these areas. The sheriff’s office said there was an “extreme traffic backup” Saturday afternoon.
