Flood Advisory Extended in Hillsborough (Expired)
Heavy rains are expected to continue into the evening hours.

The National Weather Service has extended a flood advisory for Hillsborough County until 9 p.m. Friday.
“At 3:55 p.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms,” the agency wrote in its advisory. “This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Two to 3 inches of rain have already fallen today in northwestern Hillsborough County.”
The agency warns that locations likely to experience flooding include Carrollwood, Northdale, Lutz, Brandon, Temple Terrace, Tampa, Lake Magdalene, Town ‘ N Country and the MacDill area.

A flood watch also remains in effect for Hillsborough County until 8 p.m. Saturday.
In light of the heavy rains, Hillsborough County has announced it is providing sandbag materials to residents, as well.
