Parents who want to get a jump on planning for the 2015-16 school year will find all the important dates they need to know about on the Hillsborough County Public Schools calendar for the year.

Here are some of the most important dates:

• First day of school – Aug. 25, 2015
• Labor Day – Sept. 7
• End of 1st grading period – Oct. 23
• Non-student day – Oct. 26
• Veteran’s Day – Nov. 11
• Fall break – Nov. 23-27
• Students return to school – Nov. 30
• Winter break – Dec. 21, 2015, through Jan. 1, 2016
• Students return to school – Jan. 4
• End of 2nd grading period – Jan. 15
• Martin Luther King Jr. holiday – Jan. 18
• Non-student day – Jan. 19
• Florida State Fair Day for West Hillsborough kids – Feb. 5
• Strawberry Festival Day for East Hillsborough kids – March 7
• Spring break – March 14-18
• Students return to school – March 21
• Non-student day – March 25
• End of 3rd grading period – April 1
• Memorial Day holiday – May 30
• Last day of school – June 10
