Hillsborough Makes Sandbag Materials Available

Hillsborough County residents who want to batten down the hatches just in case Tropical Storm Erika makes her way here can get sandbag materials at no charge.

The county announced Friday it was making materials available to residents at the following locations:

• West Service Unit, 9805 Sheldon Road, Tampa
• South Service Unit, 8718 Old Big Bend Road, Gibsonton
• East Service Unit, 4702 Sydney Road, Plant City

All three locations will be open until 4 p.m. Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.

Residents will need to make their own sandbags. They must also sign their names and provide home addresses to receive up to 25 sandbags.
