Hillsborough Opens Sandbag Locations
With more rain expected, the county is opening three locations for residents to pick up materials over the weekend.

Hillsborough County residents worried anticipated rain over the weekend might add to their flooding woes will find help available.
The county has announced it is opening three locations where residents can pick up sandbag materials. The locations are:
- West Service Unit, 9805 Sheldon Road in Tampa
- South Service Unit, 8718 Old Big Bend Road in Gibsonton
- East Service Unit, 4702 Sydney Road in Plant City
Residents can pick up materials for their sandbags between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the county announced in a media release. Residents are limited to 25 sandbags or less. They must also sign their name and provide their home address to acknowledge receipt of the materials.

So far, the county has provided more than 14,000 sandbags to residents since August began.
One emergency shelter remains open, as well. Residents in need of assistance may call 813-727-6900 for shelter details. The facility is the Bible Based Fellowship church, 8718 N. 46th St. in Tampa.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for about a 60 percent chance of more storms in the region on Saturday followed by a 40 percent chance Sunday.
