 Hillsborough Playgrounds, Skate Parks Reopen

All Hillsborough County playgrounds, splash pads, outdoor fitness equipment and skate parks have reopened.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — If you're wondering what to do on the Labor Day holiday, Hillsborough County is reminding residents that it has reopened all playgrounds, splash pads, outdoor fitness equipment and skate parks as of Aug. 31.

These facilities will be open on Labor Day, Sept. 7, along with Hillsborough County conservation parks, nature preserves, trails and boat ramps.

Hillsborough County closed its parks in late March because of concerns over the coronavirus. Even as parks gradually reopened, playgrounds, splash pads and skateboard parks remained off limits.

The decision to reopen those amenities was made after consultation with health officials, emergency managers and Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation staff.

Those using playgrounds, splash pads, and skateboard parks should practice social distancing and wear a face covering when that is not possible.
