Mayor Jane Castor to Give Opening Remarks at Life Amplified

Newly-elected Mayor Jane Castor will join 19 of the best performers in Tampa Bay at venue sponsor Stageworks Theatre, 1120 E Kennedy Blvd. on June 22 at 1:00 PM to give opening remarks at the 13th production of Life Amplified showcase for charity, Life Amplified CONNECTIONS.
The philanthropic side of the local marketing company, The WriteOne Creative Services, Life Amplified, an annual music showcase, celebrates its sixth-year fundraising – this time for Project No Labels, whose mission is to unite Tampa Bay LGBTQ+ community for the betterment of
all, creating an atmosphere of positivity and tolerance within the community. All proceeds raised from ticket sales will go directly to the nonprofit.

The audience may have seen the volunteer performers both on stage in community and professional theatre productions throughout Tampa Bay and on their television.

Life Amplified CONNECTIONS features singers Alison Burns, Chelsie Camaro Smith, Michael C de Baca, Bryan D’Onofrio, Drew Eberhard, Adriane Falcon, Joel Ferrer, Erica Garraffa, Rob L’Ecuyer, Jeff Lukas, Tammy Lukas, Heather Lynn Menodoza, Madison Claire Rice, Shawn Rice, Erin Ruska, Daniel Von Zangenberg and Topher Warren, as well as American Idol Season 6’s golden ticket winner Lena Morisseau and Season 16’s Zach D’Onofrio.

Not only has the Tampa Bay theatre community rallied behind this event, but local organizations Frank Mills Show, Free Mom Hugs, Watermark Magazine, ProSisters.com, SWIM – Social Women in Motion, Altwomyn Events, The Dru Project, Gay Day in Tampa Bay and Chat and Spin
Radio have helped spread the word. Several will have tables set up in the theatre lobby prior to the showcase.

What was supposed to be one show in January 2013 at Tampa Pitcher Show for Redefining Refuge and their fight against human trafficking in Tampa Bay has evolved into a movement.

Since 2013, Life Amplified has tackled hard-hitting issues like human trafficking, bullying, PTSD, sexual violence, childhood cancer, and Military Sexual Trauma (MST) for nonprofits like Equusolutions, Casey’s Healing Hooves, Bricks for the Brave, The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay –
Take Back the Night, K-9s for Veterans, and assisted Animal Coalition of
Tampa raise funds to rebuild their facility destroyed by arson and performed for the landmark LGBTQ-friendly coffee shop Sacred Grounds, among others.

In May 2014, the showcase was recognized as Fox TV’s Hometown Hero and in 2016, Bay News 9 Every Day Hero.

Founder Deborah Bostock-Kelley said, “I am completely humbled by incredible people like Mayor Castor and our cast whose involvement helps get the word out about the local nonprofit. I hate when I hear someone making the excuse, but I’m just one person, what can I do. It only takes
one person to make a difference and make an impact. I’ve discovered during this process, in the time it takes to make an excuse, you could be starting a movement.”
