Sheldon Road Commuters Should Prepare For Slower Traffic
Beginning March 28, northbound and southbound left turn lanes at the intersection of Sheldon Road and Sheldon West Drive will be closed.

TAMPA, FL – Beware of slow-moving traffic on Sheldon Road starting next week.
Beginning Wednesday, March 28, northbound and southbound left turn lanes at the intersection of Sheldon Road and Sheldon West Drive will be closed so that crews can install dewatering and maintenance of traffic equipment. These closures are expected to remain in effect through April 27.
Motorists traveling north on Sheldon Road will need to make a U-turn at Westwind Drive to access Sheldon West Drive. Motorists traveling south on Sheldon Road will need to turn left at North Meadowview Circle.

Traffic thru-lanes are expected to remain open during the peak morning and evening commutes.
During construction, inside travel lanes will merge with the outer lanes throughout the day during non-peak hours, which may increase travel times.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the area. The median piping work will continue south on Sheldon Road for several months before reaching Linebaugh Avenue this summer.
Pipeline installation is part of the first phase of a Hillsborough County Public Utilities project to retire and remove the aging River Oaks Wastewater Treatment Plant located at the corner of Sheldon Road and Waters Avenue.
