Youth Playwrights - 3rd through 7th grade - Wanted
Fourth annual KIDSPEAK competition at Carrollwood Players is seeking original one acts from students, 3rd to 7th grade.
From May 1-November 16, 2018, the nonprofit community theatre, Carrollwood Players is taking submission for its fourth annual youth playwriting competition, KIDSPEAK 4.0. They need students, third – 7th grade, to participate by sending in original short plays. Students can write about any topic, up to 4 characters and no more than 5 pages or 10 minutes. The competition has been started earlier to give students the opportunity to write over the summer. Last day to submit is November 16, 2018. Eight plays will be selected in December for staged-reading performance by adult actors in The CWP Black Box in February 2019. Youth playwrights selected receive a free ticket and a chance to win a trophy.
