2 Boat Parades Canceled Because Of Weather
Weather concerns caused organizers to cancel 2 boat parades scheduled for tonight.

CLEARWATER, FL – The St. Pete Beach Boat Parade and Winter Festival in the Park has been canceled because of the weather, organizers said on their website. The event will not be rescheduled. The South Pasadena Lighted Boat Parade also has been canceled, organizers said.
Here’s is a list of the other 2017 Pinellas County Holiday Boat Parades. Patch will update the list if there are any additional cancellations:
Gulfport & Boca Ciega Yacht Club Lighted Christmas Boat Parade
The 32st Annual Gulfport & Boca Ciega Yacht Club Lighted Christmas Boat Parade will take place Saturday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.

The parade begins at the Gulfport Municipal Marina, passing by the BCYC clubhouse before entering the bay. It then travels to Williams pier and the beach, passing by the Gulfport Casino. The parade then travels through the communities of Town Shores, Kipps Colony and the Pasadena Yacht & Country Club, Pasadena Golf Club Estates, Dolphin Boulevard South and Isla del Soul before returning to the BCYC clubhouse.
Unlike many boat parades with a monetary entry fee, the captains of the Gulfport & Boca Ciega Yacht Club Lighted Christmas Boat Parade donate two or more unwrapped toys for Operation Santa. Coordinated by the Gulfport Police Department, Operation Santa collects toys for children in need in Gulfport.

St. Petersburg’s Illuminated Boat Parade
The 31st annual St. Petersburg’s Illuminated Boat Parade will take place Saturday, Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. around the Vinoy Basin. The event is hosted by the Rotary Club of St. Petersburg.
Limited grandstand seating is available for $10 each and are available to purchase by visiting http://www.stpeteboatparade.org/. The grandstand is located at 401 Bayshore Drive NE.
The event will feature a live performance of classic rock from the Southside Bulldog Band, as well as food, beverages and live commentary.
Proceeds from the event benefit Rotary charities, which support many non-profit organizations in the St. Petersburg area, including the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, Daystar, Christmas Toy Shop, Children’s Dram Fund, Morean Arts Center and more.

Madeira Beach Festival of Lights Illuminated Boat Parade
The 51st annual Madeira Beach Festival of Lights Illuminated Boat Parade will take place Sunday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The parade is scheduled to start immediately after the community’s Christmas Tree Lighting celebration.
The parade route will launch from John’s Pass Village on Madeira Beach and will end at the Madeira Beach Recreation Center, weaving in and out of the different canals and inlets of the town. The village will also play host to the tree lighting, a shop local holiday event and a kickoff party for the boat parade.

Treasure Island Holiday Boat Parade
The 31st Annual Treasure Island Holiday Boat Parade will take place Friday, Dec. 15 at 6:20 p.m. With more than 70 varieties of boats participating, the Treasure Island event is the largest lighted boat parade in Tampa Bay.
Best viewing: 115th Avenue on Isle of Palms, Treasure Island Causeway Bridge, Kingfish Drive at John’s Pass (Gator’s Café & Saloon), Blind Pass Bridge (between Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach)
Redington Beach & Indian Shores Holiday Boat Parade
The Redington Beach & Indian Shores Holiday Boat Parade will take place Sunday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. The parade winds through the intercostal waterways starting at the Tom Stuart Causeway and ends at The Pub restaurant in Indian Shores.
The Annual Redington Beaches and Indian Shores Christmas Boat Parade Viewing Party will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Indian Shores Municipal Center, 19305 Gulf Blvd. Soup will be provided by Salt Rock Grill, while cookies and cocoa will also be available.
