Applications Sought For Pinellas Community Foundation Opening

The non-profit organization provides grants to support local causes in Pinellas County.

CLEARWATER, FL – Pinellas County recently announced a vacancy on the Pinellas Community Foundation’s Board of Governors. Applications are currently being accepted for a three-year term appointment to the board.

The Pinellas Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization that “seeks innovative and effective solutions for the most challenging social, environmental and educational issues of today and tomorrow,” according to Pinellas County. The foundation’s belief is that these solutions is only possible through the generosity of community donors.

Over the past 35 years, the PCF has provided more than $73 million in grants and distributions to support arts and culture, education and human services. The volunteer board of local community leaders, representing diverse interests of the Pinellas County Community, oversees the foundation’s administration and distribution of funds. The board also provides leadership in guiding the work of the organization.

Members of the Pinellas Community Foundation meet several times a year in the Feathersound area of Clearwater.

Applicants must be registered to vote in Pinellas County and have helpful knowledge and experience in human services, performing arts, education, fundraising and nonprofit administration. The Board of County Commissioners will review all applications and make their selection at an upcoming BoCC meeting.

Mandatory applications can be found at www.pinellascounty.org/boards and must be received no later than the close of business on Monday, March 13. All materials submitted to Pinellas county Government are subject to the public records law of the State of Florida.
