Big Storm Employees Help Build Home For Pinellas Park Family

CLEARWATER, FL – A local family in need has become homeowners thanks to the generosity of several Pinellas County craft breweries. It’s part of Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties’ “House That Beer Built” initiative launched in 2018.

Since then, nearly 20 local breweries including Big Storm Brewing Co. have participated by supporting Habitat’s Craft Beer Festival, hosting fundraisers and partnering on brewery scavenger hunts in St. Petersburg and Dunedin. The brewers also collaborated on a beer called “A House That Beer Built.” Sales of the Belgian Wit (white) benefited the project. All total, the brewers aimed to raise $50,000 for the House that Beer Built.

However, employees at Big Storm are also put their own sweat equity into the project. On Wednesday, volunteers from the craft brewery joined licensed contractors on-site to help build the Pinellas Park home.
