Car Seat Safety Check Set in Clearwater

The event takes place July 18.

Parents concerned about the safety of their children’s car and booster seats are invited out to the Clearwater Police Department next week for a free inspection.

Clearwater AmeriCorps has announced a free check event from noon until 4 p.m., Saturday, July 18 at the main station, 645 Pierce St. The organization plans to have at least two certified car seat technicians on hand and welcomes Spanish speakers, too, an email from the police department stated.

Parents must have their car or booster seats purchased prior to the event.

“The technicians will demonstrate the proper installation of your car/booster seat in your vehicle,” the email said.

Parents are asked to park in the spaces on the east side of the building and to come inside the main lobby to have a technician assigned to them.
