Pinellas County Office Closures For Independence Day Weekend

Pinellas County government offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Pinellas County government offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day and many operating on Saturday will be closed on July 4.

Departments including Building Development Review Services, Human Services and Veterans Services will be closed Friday. The courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco) will not be in session Friday except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations.

County parks and the Florida Botanical Gardens will remain open on Friday and Saturday. Boat ramps and beach access areas will also be open however, Parks and Conservation Resources administrative offices will be closed Friday and beach and boat ramp passes will not be available for sale.

The outdoor areas of the county’s preserves wll remain open Friday and Saturday, but the Brooker Creek Environmental Education Center and Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center remain closed due to COVID-19. Heritage Village has been closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak but will partially reopen starting Wednesday, July 8. The park will operate Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1- 4 p.m. Due to the ongoing nature of the COVID-19 outbreak, the park’s galleries and historic buildings will remain closed.

The County Solid Waste Disposal Facility will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m on Friday and Saturday. The Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center (HEC3), located at 2855 109th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, will be closed Friday and Saturday; it will reopen from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 6. The Solid Waste Administration Building will be closed Friday.

The offices and adoption center at Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed both Friday and Saturday as well.

All Pinellas County facilities with the exception of Heritage Village, Brooker Creek Environmental Education Center and Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center will resume regular hours of operation on Monday, July 6.
