Clearwater Man Charged in 2012 Double Shooting
Mackeral Shay Crocker, 20, admitted to the shooting that left one man dead and his wife injured, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

A Clearwater man has been charged with first degree murder in connection with a 2012 double shooting in the Lealman area, authorities said Thursday night.
Mackeral Shay Crocker, 20, who had been living at Express Inn & Suites, 11333 U.S. 19 N., admitted to the shooting, detectives said. He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail without incident, where he was being held without bond.
David J. Paonessa, 58, and his wife, 66-year-old Jane Bryant, were found shot in their home in the 2500 block of 68th Avenue North on Nov. 7, 2012. Paonessa died at a local hospital; his wife survived.

Crocker is the second person to be arrested in connection to the case.
Jaquan L. Pedigo, 28, was charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder shortly after the shooting, TBO.com reported.

The investigation is still ongoing, officials said.
