Ex-Middle School Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student: Cops
A former Dunedin Middle School teacher has been accused of having sex with a student, according to Clearwater police.

CLEARWATER, FL - A former Dunedin Middle School teacher has been accused of having sex with a 14-year-old student, according to Clearwater police. Marselia Anthony Smith, 34, a former chorus teacher at the school, was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Thursday night where he remains on a $60,000 bond.
Police said the incidents occurred beginning April 1 while Smith was employed at the school. Some of the incidents occurred at his apartment on South Missouri Avenue and others occurred at the school, police said. Smith is no longer employed with the Pinellas County School District.
The Clearwater police charges are related to what took place at his residence in Clearwater. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is expected to add a charge related to what occurred at the school, which is located in its jurisdiction, according to Clearwater police.
