Funnel Cloud Spotted in Clearwater

The weather photo was taken Monday evening along U.S. 19 in Clearwater, and a waterspout was later confirmed in the area. Did you see anything?

A Patch reader spotted what looks like a funnel cloud Monday evening near U.S. 19 in Clearwater.

Charlotte Lambert shared her photo taken from in front of the Aveda Institute Tampa Bay at 28272 U.S. 19.

"It's forming and spinning pretty quick," she told Patch.

The National Weather Service confirmed a waterspout formed Monday and could be seen in the Westchase, Oldsmar and Dunedin areas, meteorologist Rodney Wynn told Patch.

A Westchase Patch reader there shared photos and video of the water spout.

In Dunedin, another reader posted photos of a waterspout spotted near the intersection of Curlew Road and Alternate U.S. 19.

A tornado warning was briefly in effect for Dunedin, Safety Harbor and Palm Harbor before it was canceled Monday.
