Ireland Nugent's Facebook Page Taken Down
Kathi Trautwein, Associate Pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church said the church took the page down after some followers left nasty posts about the $119,000 that the church has collected in donations for Ireland.

Trinity Presbyterian Church in Clearwater has taken down the Ireland Nugent Support Page it created for people to follow the Palm Harbor 2-year-old's recovery. Ireland Nugent's ankles were severed in a lawnmower accident at her home in April. The Facebook page was followed by people around the world.
Kathi Trautwein, associate pastor at Trinity Presbyterian, said the church took the page down after some followers left nasty posts about the $119,000 that the church has collected in donations for Ireland.
Some people thought the money in the account was not going to be distributed to Ireland and the church was going to spend the money.

"It was taken down because people had a misunderstanding about the funds in the account for Ireland," said Trautwein.
"Nobody's going to spend Ireland's money," she added.

"All the money has gone in. None has come out."
The associate pastor says that church leaders will vote about distributing the donations tonight. She is 99-percent sure that they'll vote to distribute the $119,000 in donations to two different trust accounts. One trust account will be for the family's use and will contain at least $13,800. A second account will contain the balance of the donations with the money being distributed for Ireland's needs.
The situation most likely created a very uncomfortable situation for Ireland's mother Nicole, who works at the church.
Trautwein said she and Nicole talked about the situation at length today.
"Her understanding is everything is fine," said Trautwein.
Patch made multiple phone calls to Nicole Nugent Monday. As of this writing, she has not responded.
The controversy comes one day after a big benefit was held for Ireland and her family at The Centre in Palm Harbor. The event raised at least $12,000. Organizers are still tallying up the proceeds.
