Man Allegedly Locked Puppy in Car While at the Movies

TBO reported authorities had to smash the windows of the vehicle to rescue the puppy.

Erick McGriff, 22, of Tampa was arrested and charged with one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty after authorities said he went to see a movie and left his pit bull puppy inside the car. 

According to TBO:

Clearwater police received several reports of a puppy locked in a car outside the Varsity Club Sports Café at 24091 U.S. 19 at roughly 5:30 p.m., said Clearwater public safety spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts. All the windows in the car were rolled up.

Jail records show McGriff was released on $150 bond.
