Phillies' Spring Training Returns To Clearwater

Major League Baseball action returns to Clearwater's Bright House Field on March 1.

CLEARWATER, FL — Philadelphia Phillies’ fans in the Tampa Bay area don’t have to wait much longer to see their team in spring training action.

The first pitch at Clearwater’s Bright House Field goes out on Tuesday, March 1. The Phillies are set to play the Toronto Blue Jays at 1:05 p.m. A second matchup between the two is scheduled on Wednesday in Dunedin. The Houston Astros come to Clearwater Thursday and the Atlanta Braves on Friday.

Tickets for Tuesday’s game start at $14 and go up to about $40. They can be purchased online via the Phillies’ website or by calling the ticket office at 727-467-4457.

The return of the Phillies and the team’s fans is cause for celebration in Clearwater. Mayor George Cretekos and other officials, in fact, were on hand Monday morning to greet a plane of Phillies’ fans flying in from Philadelphia to Tampa International Airport. Fans reportedly received a number of goodies for making the trek to town to watch the team in action.

The Phillies have called Clearwater their Spring Training home since 1948. Bright House Field is located at 601 Old Coachman Road.
