Pinellas: 1st Pass Of Irma Debris Pickup Nears Completion
Pinellas County will make a second pass through its unincorporated areas to pick up Hurricane Irma residential debris.

CLEARWATER, FL – Pinellas County announced last week it is nearing completion of its first pass of vegetative debris removal in unincorporated areas following Hurricane Irma.
The Pinellas County Public Works department announced it completed vegetative storm debris removal in zones INSE10, INSE09, INSE05, INSE03, INON02 and INON08. Storm debris pickup in private areas in some of these zones were nearing completion as well.
Public Works reported several other zones are “substantially” completed. The first pass of debris pickup for all unincorporated Pinellas county is expected to be finished by the end of October, the department reported.

Crews are scheduled to go through all zones again for a second pass to pick up smaller vegetative storm debris that may not have been picked up on the first pass as well as construction and demolition debris.
Contractors are also working in unincorporated Pinellas County to remove damaged tree limbs to help prevent them from being future hazards.

On Friday, Oct. 13, Pinellas County announced storm debris pickup was being hampered by illegal dumping by hired companies. Public Works asked residents who see hired companies dumping debris in their neighborhood, or the dumping of other unauthorized waste, to e-mail details to watershed@pinellascounty.org.
