Pinellas Names School Resource Officer of the Year
Clearwater Police Officer Cathi Long works at Countryside High School.
CLEARWATER, FL – Cathi Long, a Clearwater police officer, was named the 2016 School Resource Officer of the Year for Pinellas County Schools on Tuesday, May 17.
Long has been a member of the Clearwater Police Department since 2004 and has served as a School Resource Officer for Countryside High since 2013. She has been instrumental in a number of initiatives at the school, including Teen Court, the Students Against Drunk Driving club and other student-involved organizations.
Long was honored during the Pinellas County School Board’s regular meeting. Other Clearwater city officials and police department representatives as well as members of Long’s family were in attendance for the presentation.
