Game day traffic combined with US 19 construction at Gulf to Bay Boulevard and the normal rush hour could cause delays in the area around Bright House Field, according to Clearwater Police.

Phillies Spring Training games start at 1:05 p.m. and normally nine innings are finished by 4 p.m. Because of that, heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic is expected from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in February and March.

Vehicles traveling eastbound on Drew Street from the Keene Road area can avoid the US 19 area by using alternate routes including State Road 590 and Sunset Point Road. Drivers can also consider use Keene Road, Hercules Avenue, or Belcher Road for north or southbound travel.

The eastbound turn lane at Drew Street to the southbound frontage road access to State Road 60 may be closed to traffic from 4 to 5 p.m. on game days. The lane closure is to try to reduce traffic gridlock on Drew Street near the US 19 overpass.
