CLEARWATER, FL — Hold off on those Super Bowl bets until you've heard the word from Nick.

Nicholas, a resident of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, is famous for his incredibly accurate professional game predictions. Since 2017, Nicholas has predicted the winners of the Stanley Cup, the NBA Finals, the World Series, the World Cup and the Super Bowl twice.

His last six picks were winners including Mississippi for the Outback Bowl, Alabama for the 2021 Rose Bowl, Ohio State for the Sugar Bowl, the Lakers for the 2020 NBA finals and the Chiefs for last year's Super Bowl. Click here to see all Nick's picks.

It's unclear where Nicholas — so named because he was rescued on Dec. 24, 2002 — got his lucky streak. He certainly didn't seem lucky when the orphaned bottlenose dolphin calf was found stranded on the beach with severe sunburns.

He was unable to learn the necessary survival skills as a calf to flourish in the wild, so he became a permanent resident of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Making unbelievable sports predictions is just one of the many talents Nick has demonstrated. He's also famous for helping children with life-altering skin conditions accept themselves.

On Tuesday at noon, though, Nick spurned his hometown team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bucs fans are calling "out of bounds" after leaked security camera footage surfaced showing an attempt by the Kansas City Chiefs to bribe Nick. The footage has since mysteriously disappeared, and Nick isn't admitting to anything.

But animal care specialists at the Florida Marine Aquarium swear there was no penalty on the play. When presented with footballs bearing the logos of the two Super Bowl contenders, Nick didn't hesitate to touch the Chiefs' football with his rostrum (nose.)

Nick's not the only critter who picked the Chiefs. Clearwater Marine Aquarium otter Walle and Rex the rough-toothed dolphin chose the Chiefs as well.

The only faithful Bucs fans were Winter the bottlenose dolphin, star of the "Dolphin Tale" movies, who chose the stick with her hometown team, and Bailey the loggerhead sea turtle.

People can visit Nick, Winter and the other marine animals at the aquarium now through Sunday and wear their pro football team apparel to receive a special limited-edition souvenir cup. Each souvenir cup includes one free fountain drink at Shark Bites Cafe.

The CMA Big Game Week souvenir cups will be available at guest services for the first 70 guests wearing pro football logo apparel each day. A free drink must be redeemed on the visit date.

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is at 249 Windward Passage, Clearwater.
