Here are the top five stories in Dunedin today:
- The Dunedin Fine Art Center will host its annual Wearable Art Show for the sixteenth year on August 27. This highly anticipated Sweet 16 event will feature top designers and artists in a one-of-a-kind fashion show. Models will walk the runway in wearable pieces of art followed by an after-glow party where guests can chat and enjoy live entertainment from talented musicians. Tickets go on sale the last week of July and can be purchased at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. (Destination Tampa Bay)
- Resurfacing of the Dunedin Causeway resumed on Sunday after workers were forced to stop due to the weather and another project that required immediate attention. The remaining work should take about a week. Drivers should exercise caution when driving through the area. Expect delays and lane closures between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. (Dunedin Patch)
- Back in the Day Books was featured on the City's Youtube channel, Made In Dunedin. The owner of the store, Boe Rushing, describes what makes them different from other book stores saying, "I look for unusual titles, visually attractive titles, collectible things, interesting things, and not many bookstores have that mix." If you haven't visited Back in the Day books yet, you're missing out! In addition to new titles, they have collectible books, those written by local authors, puzzles, literary t-shirts, and more. - The 5th annual Dunedin International Film Festival is scheduled for January 12 to January 13, 2023. Hosted by the Fenway Hotel, Hob Brewing Co., and Sea Sea Riders, the festival creates a platform for filmmakers to share their original content with the community. Likely the event will include an animation short film block, a horror short film block, and a foreign short film block. Early-bird tickets are now available for purchase. - SOAK Worship is hosting a free event to help kids prepare for the upcoming school year on July 22 between 6 and 8 p.m. in Pioneer Park.
