DUNEDIN, FL — Dunedin Parks & Recreation is seeking responsible teen volunteers to be a part of the Teen Leadership Program and work during the summer camp programs.

Teens must be age 13 (as of Jan. 1, 2021) through age 16 (as of Aug. 6, 2021). Teen leaders will work with adult mentors during the summer camp programs and gain valuable experience while learning leadership skills. Teens must commit to training sessions and four weeks of summer volunteering.

Goals Of The Program

  • Prepare teens in the community for future leadership roles based on the "Leadership Begins With Me" motto
  • Instill and develop self-motivation and work ethic
  • Teach invaluable skills and grow as responsible young adults
  • Take on future roles within the Parks & Recreation Department

  • Volunteering for the community
  • Gaining individualized training and hands-on experience
  • Earning community service hours for scholarships/clubs

Applications are available at the Dunedin Community Center, 1920 Pinehurst Road, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 550 Laura Lane.

Selected teens must provide a copy of their birth certificate, obtain a background check, attend trainings and pay a $50 material fee. Pay and turn in enrollment paperwork by May 14 and receive a $15 discount.
