Motorcyclist Dies In Crash On Main Street, Dunedin

DUNEDIN, FL — A 38-year-old motorcyclist had died following a crash Monday morning near 1750 Main St. in Dunedin.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, at 9:45 a.m. Josue Vega-Rodriguez of Main Street in Dunedin was traveling west on Main Street on his 2014 Harley-Davidson XL1200 motorcycle.

Larry L. Smith, 79, of Campbell Road in Clearwater was heading east on Main Street in a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 when he made a left turn into a parking lot in the path of the motorcycle.

Vega-Rodriguez was transported to Northside Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Smith was not injured.

Investigators say speed or impairment do not appear to be factors in this case.
