540,000 More Pinellas Residents Eligible For Coronavirus Vaccines

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Pinellas County residents age 50 or older can now get vaccinated under the latest executive order issue by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Friday.

According to the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, there are 540,396 residents age 50 to 59 living in Pinellas County.

Eligible residents may book appointments online at www.PatientPortalFL.com.

This age group, along with health care workers and medically vulnerable people with a doctor's form, can create an account online or by calling 844-770-8548. Then check the site for available appointments. The website and phone number are open 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Vaccination sites operated by the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County and Pinellas County government are adding appointments as additional shipments arrive.

Identification and proof of eligibility required at all appointments.

Vaccinations are free. A doctor's note or prescription is not required. Health insurance information is being collected in accordance with federal guidance; however, residents will not be asked to pay a copay or deductible. Those who do not have health insurance will still be vaccinated.

Residents can also get vaccinated at walk-up clinics operated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency site at Tampa Greyhound Track, 755 E. Waters Ave., Tampa, and at The Centre in Palm Harbor at 1550 16th St., Palm Harbor. The Tampa site is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. The Palm Harbor site is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. No appointment is needed.

There are numerous other sites throughout Pinellas County that are currently administering the vaccine to eligible individuals including Walgreens, CVS, Walmart and Publix.
