A second vehicle, traveling east on Tampa Road, sideswiped the passenger side of Daly's vehicle to avoid a head-on collision. Deputies say there were no injuries but said Daly showed signs of impairment. They said she had bloodshot, glassy eyes, was unsteady and had the odor of alcohol on her breath.
Daly agreed to perform field sobriety tests, but she performed poorly. She then submitted a breath sample that indicated a blood-alcohol content of .238/.243. Florida considers a blood-alcohol content of .08 legally drunk.
