Whimsical Wearable Art To Be Featured At 15th Fashion Show

Whimsical wearable design will grace the runway Saturday, Aug. 24 when the Dunedin Fine Art Center​ presents Wearable Art 15.

DUNEDIN, FL — Whimsical wearable design will grace the runway Saturday, Aug. 24 from 7 to 11:30 p.m. when the Dunedin Fine Art Center presents Wearable Art 15, a much-anticipated fashion show featuring the work of local and national artists.

The 15th annual event at the art center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin, will include innovative clothing, jewelry and accessories by artistic designers including Jenna Barnes, Mark Byrne, Melissa Dolce, the Garden Fairies + Electric Diva, Johnny Hunt, Kikimora Studios, Cindy Linville and Frank Strunk III.

Additionally, there will be a special onsite presentation of work by perennial wearable art favorite Lina Teixeira. All models will sport hair and makeup artistry by Salon GW.

Both the Pre-Glow and After-Glow parties will feature live music during which attendees can explore "If the Shoe Fits...," a celebratory exhibit show in conjunction with Wearable Art 15 in which the arts community was invited to create shoes in all shapes and styles, using the media of their choice. People’s Choice Awards will be determined by popular vote.

This year, the DFAC is adding a fashion boutique called "Groove-tique," offering artist-made wares for sale only during the event.

Tickets are on sale for $85, $100 and $135. Or purchase a party ticket for $20 and enjoy the parties and watch the runway show on a video monitor.

The Pre-Glow starts at 7 p.m. The runway show begins at 8:30 p.m. and the After-Glow party will follow.
