Celebrate Oldsmar: What to Know Before You Go
A year's worth of celebrating Oldsmar's 100th Anniversary culminates in several big events.

OLDSMAR, FL – The city that sits on top of Tampa Bay has been celebrating its 100th anniversary all year long. Next up for Oldsmar will be its official birthday party.
Celebrate Oldsmar is a two-day event that will feature everything from live music to fireworks to a 100th Anniversary parade. Here’s what area residents need to know before you go to Celebrate Oldsmar:
Date and Time
Celebrate Oldsmar is scheduled to take place on Friday, Sept. 2 from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 3 from noon to 10 p.m.

Location
The events of Celebrate Oldsmar will take place at R.E. Olds Park, 107 Shore Drive W. in Oldsmar.
Oldsmar Centennial Parade
The Oldsmar Centennial Parade will kick off the events for Saturday, Sept. 3. The parade route will include State Street, Park Boulevard, Shore Drive and Lafayette Boulevard. Trophies will be awarded to selected individuals or groups during Celebrate Oldsmar. Applications for parade participants are due by Thursday, Aug. 25. Click here to download the application form.

Two-Day Events
Both days of Celebrate Oldsmar will feature carnival rides, games and fireworks, as well as food plus beer and wine.
Friday Schedule
From 6 to 10 p.m., Radio Crime will present live music.
Saturday Schedule
- 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Oldsmar Centennial Parade
- 12:30 p.m. (or following the parade): Classic car show
- 2 to 4 p.m.: Live music by Feeling Groovy
- 6 to 10 p.m.: Live music by The Superstars
Oldsmar 100 Gear
Official Oldsmar 100 Centennial items are available for purchase on the Oldsmar 100 website, with proceeds going to the Oldsmar Historical Society to help support the centennial celebrations. Items include T-shirts, collector pins, coverlets, and ornaments. Prices range from $5 to $50 per item.

Other Centennial Events
Time Capsule
The Oldsmar People’s Centennial Task Force are collecting items for a time capsule that will be opened in September 2066. Participants are welcome to donate one free item (such as a letter, a newspaper clipping, a picture). Additional items can be added for a $5 donation to the Oldsmar Historical Society per item. For more information about what items can be sealed in the time capsule, e-mail info@oldsmar100.com.
Every person who participates in the time capsule will receive a VIP ticket to the Time Capsule Sealing Ceremony, which will take place in September, an official Time Keeper certificate, save-the-date information for 2066 and a VIP ticket for the Opening Ceremony, which will take place in September 2066.

Centennial Concert
Tampa Bay Downs will host the Oldsmar Centennial Concert on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 5 to 10 p.m. The concert event will feature representatives from classic rock bands, including:
- Steve Augeri, former lead singer of Journey
- Buck Dharma, lead singer and guitarist from Blue Oyster Cult
- John Cafferty, lead singer and guitarist from Beaver Brown Band
- Michael Anunes, saxophonist from Beaver Brown Band
- Robby Steinhardt, former violinist and singer from Kansas
