Drainage Project: Construction Under Way in Tarpon Woods

Portions of some roads could close to through traffic during construction. Here's a look at the construction schedule.

Is you live in Tarpon Woods or travel through the subdivision to get to Ridgemoor, you've probably seen construction crews working along the side of the road. 

They're installing about 5,500 feet of new drainage pipes that are designed to alleviate the subdivision's flooding problem. The new drainage system will funnel rain water into Brooker Creek.

Here's a look at the construction schedule-

  • May 21 to Aug. 5: Storm sewer installation on Tarpon Woods Boulevard
  • July 2 to Aug. 26: Storm sewer installation on Toniwood Lane
  • Aug. 6 to Sept. 16: Storm sewer installation on Patti Place
  • Aug. 27 to Oct. 7: Storm sewer installation on Brian Road
  • Oct. 8-21: Roadway paving
  • Oct. 22 to Nov. 1: Final cleanup

Portions of some roads could close to thru traffic during construction. If crews need to restrict local access, residents will be notified at least 72 hours in advance.

Construction crews are expected to finish the project by Nov. 1.
