Drone-Based Mapping Will Take Place Saturday Over Some Oldsmar Neighborhoods

The data collected could one day lead to minimizing flood hazards.

January 29, 2021

On Saturday, January 30, between 9:30 am and 4 pm, University of Florida researchers will be performing a small pilot project using drone-based mapping. The data they collect could one day hopefully lead to minimizing flood hazards, lowering flood insurance premiums, and increasing the overall resiliency of our neighborhoods. They will be deploying a drone in the public rights-of-way of selected neighborhoods to conduct their research. Please CLICK HERE for a map of the areas that will be assessed.
