Fire Destroys East Lake Woodlands Home

A fire in unincorporated Pinellas County Monday night gutted a 10,000-square-foot home in East Lake, causing more than $1 million in damage.

EAST LAKE, FL — A fire in unincorporated Pinellas County Monday night gutted a 10,000-square-foot home in East Lake, causing more than $1 million in damage.

According to fire officials, fire crews arrived at the hoe at 10:40 p.m. to find the two-story home at 1882 Muirfield Way in the East Lake Woodlands fully involved.

More than 30 firefighters from East Lake, Oldsmar, Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor and Clearwater fire departments worked for several hours to bring the fire under control.

Three people in the home was able to escape without injury.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
