Tiger Beat by Kandice Blackman - December 04, 2018
Trinity College of Florida stepped foot on a familiar, yet unfamiliar court on December 4th. Playing NCAA DII Saint Leo University, for the second time in two years was a game the Lady Tigers would have to be mentally ready for. Despite the division difference, and lack of fan support for Trinity's basketball team, they never backed down. Saint Leo, home of the Lions, came out roaring, hitting back to back threes to get the game going. That still wasn't enough to discourage the Lady Tigers. Leading scorer for the Lady Tigers, Markenesja Hardy (#2) had a solid 27 points, shooting 57% from behind the arc. There was a strong sense of passion within Hardy throughout the game, which gave the rest of her teammates motivation to keep their heads up. The Lions won 93-60 with their 50% field goal percentage topping the Tigers' 36%. Nonetheless, it was a hard-fought game. If Trinity plays with the energy they had last night, they'll be in a great place for their next conference game, December 14th home against Toccoa Falls.
