New Fire Commissioner Announced at Tuesday's Board Meeting

East Lake Fire Rescue's newest commissioner is expected to be sworn in at the next board meeting on Tuesday, July 23. The new commissioner's identity has not yet been revealed.

The new commissioner will serve the remainder of Flo Galloway's term which ends in November of 2014. Galloway moved to Ohio to be closer to her family. 

13 residents applied for the open seat on the five-member commission. 

Five finalists were selected; J. Randall Burr, Wayne Ferguson, John Hall, Michael Peasley and Lauralee Westine. The finalists participated in a public interview with board members on July 10. 

At the upcoming commission meeting the new board member will be announced and then sworn in.

The meeting will be held at Station 57, 3375 Tarpon Lake Boulevard, (727) 784-8668.
