Oldsmar Couple Found Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

OLDSMAR, FL — Pinellas County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating an apparent murder-suicide shooting involving a couple in unincorporated Oldsmar.

Deputies were called to 1540 Huntleigh Court at 12:57 p.m. Monday for a report of gunfire. When they entered the home, they found a married couple, 41-year-old Shawna Katz and 53-year-old John Katz, dead in the same room from gunshot wounds.

Detectives believe John Katz shot Shawna Katz and then took his own life.
