Palm Harbor Man Killed After Car Strikes Tree On Highpoint Drive

EAST LAKE, FL — A 21-year-old Palm Harbor man died early Saturday after driving off the road and crashing into a tree.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 3:56 a.m., the man was driving a car at a high speed south on Highpoint Drive near Mira Vista Drive in a neighborhood off Lake Tarpon when he lost control while trying to negotiate a curve.

Troopers said he crashed in a tree and died at the scene.
