Pinellas Sheriff Seeks Vehicle Involved In Fatal Crash In Oldsmar

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is searching for the driver of a second vehicle involved the death of a pedestrian in Oldsmar Tuesday,

OLDSMAR, FL -- The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is searching for the driver of a second vehicle involved the death of a pedestrian in Oldsmar Tuesday, Aug. 28.

According to investigators, at 10:24 a.m., 55-year-old Oldsmar resident Mark J. Coomes was driving his 2010 Toyota Four Runner west in the curb lane of Tampa Road approaching St Petersburg Drive with a green traffic light.

Investigators say 64 year-old pedestrian Eric Feinstein of Dunedin was crossing the intersection -- it's unknown if he was using the crosswalk -- when he was struck by the Toyota Four Runner.

Deputies say the driver of the Toyota stated he did not see Feinstein, and Feinstein did not take evasive action.

After he was struck by the Toyota, Feinstein was hit again by another vehicle that continued traveling west on Tampa Road. Deputies are trying to identify the second driver. No description of the vehicle is available at this time.

Paramedics pronounced Feinstein dead at the scene.

Investigators do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the first crash involving the Toyota.
