Missing Pieces
Trinity College of Florida vs. St. Johns River State College
by Kandice Blackman on August 28
With puzzles, every piece matters and likewise in sports every player is needed. Tonight the Tigers had two pieces that were needed, sadly those pieces were missing. One of Trinity’s starting setters was on the injured reserve list, spraining her ankle not even 24 hours before the season opening game. Not to mention, the absence of their libero did not go well for them at all. In the 3-0 loss for Trinity the Vikings knew exactly where to attack, the left back. Despite lacking in defense, there were a few great moments for the Lady Tigers offensive. Trinity’s fourth year senior Emily Hethorn went on a rampage hitting 5 aces in row. Giving the Tigers courage to go all out during the second set! There is true promise for the Lady Tigers when they play with confidence and as a team. Trinity will head up to Jacksonville Florida September 7th for a two day tournament. Following that, on September 11th the Tigers will be back home facing a tough match against Florida National University.
