Troopers Seek Information On Fatal Crash Involving Scooter

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information concerning a hit-and-run crash that killed scooter operator on East Lake Road Sunday.

EAST LAKE, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information concerning a hit-and-run crash that killed scooter operator on East Lake Road Sunday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, shortly after 2 a.m., a car was traveling north on East Lake Road south of Woodlands Boulevard when it struck a motorized scooter headed in the same direction ridden by a 42-year-old man from Las Vegas headed in the same direction.

The car then fled the scene. The scooter operator died at the scene.

Debris from the front grill and portions of the headlight recovered at the scene indicate the car was a 2015-2019 Nissan Sentra, color unknown.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol at 813-558-1800.
