9 trespassed, arrested at Treehouse Lounge, Roots Restaurant.
9 people over New Year's weekend trespassed, arrested at Roots Restaurant & Treehouse Rooftop Lounge at Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers.
Fort Myers, Fl; 9 people, 7 with handicaps and 2 unaccompanied men, were trespassed with 4 arrested and 3 bodyslammed, over the course of the New Year's holiday and the following weekend at the Treehouse Rooftop Lounge and Roots Restaurant located at the Bell Tower Shops shopping center in Fort Myers. The 7 handicapped persons included 3 autistic males, 2 males with cerebral palsy, 1 wheelchair bound, and 1 blind person. The facility, formerly known as Society Restaurant & Lounge, and which is under the same ownership and management as when it was Society, had the police called where they successfully escorted both unaccompanied males, the blind person, the wheelchair bound, and one of the cerebral palsy patrons off the premises and told that if they are ever seen on the premises again, they will be arrested. The other male patron with cerebral palsy and all 3 autistic males, however, refused to leave and were promptly arrested. All 3 autistic males became combative when the officers put the handcuffs on and were immediately bodyslammed to the ground and restrained where they continued to resist. Two of them were tasered unconscious, the other one the police threatened to "shoot him dead" if he didn't cooperate. The 3 autistic males were taken to Federal lockup to face Federal charges of trespassing after warning, resisting arrest, and assault on a law enforcement officer resulting in injuries. If found guilty, all 3 of them face up to 100 years in prison each.
