Fort Myers 4th Of July Fireworks: 2017 Guide

FORT MYERS, FL -- The nation is about to celebrate its 241st birthday, and it's time to watch the glorious explosions we know as fireworks. Events in the Fort Myers area range from simple fireworks shows to day-long extravaganzas.

  • Fort Myers Miracle Fireworks.
  • Fireworks over Hammond stadium about five minutes after the baseball game, which starts at 7:05 p.m. Parking is $5.

  • Fort Myers Beach 4th of July Fireworks
  • Start time 8:45 p.m. Mantanzas Pass Bridge will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Fort Myers WINK Freedom Fest
  • Downtown Fort Myers. Chili-dog-eating contest, live entertainment, kids' activities, car show and fireworks. 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Cornhole tournament, red, white and blue Jell-O shots, live music. Noon to 11 p.m.

  • Rock the Dock Fourth of July
  • Live music. Event is free and starts at 6 p.m. Event lasts until 10 p.m. Fathoms Restaurant and Bar.

  • Star Spangled Bonita Independence Day
  • Live entertainment, kids' activity area, watermelon and ice cream eating contests, laser-light display and fireworks. Event starts at 4 p.m. Fireworks at nighttime.

  • Fort Myers Beach Fireworks
  • Starts at 10 a.m., parade travels along Estero Boulevard. Events throughout the day. Fireworks at 8:45 p.m.

  • Lazy Springs 4th of July Fireworks
  • Lazy Springs Recreation Park. Event lasts from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Grilling, mudding, swimming before fireworks. $10 per person, free for kids age 9 and under.

  • Pine Island Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks
  • Parade begins at 10 a.m. on Stringfellow Road in St. James City. Fireworks set off at dusk from the St. James City American Legion.

  • Sanibel Island Independence Day Celebration
  • Celebration starts at 9:30 a.m. Parade, then a celebration at Jerry's Shopping Center from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Water slide, food and refreshments. Fireworks launched at the end of Bailey Road at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, July 4

  • 4th Fest at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda.
  • Food, vendors, bounce houses, water slides and fireworks. Event lasts 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Tuesday, July 4

  • Fishermen's Village Fourth of July Celebration and Freedom Swim
  • 1.5-mile swim starts at 11 a.m. at the north end of the U.S. 41 bridge, ending at Fishermen's Village. Live bands and entertainment from noon to 9 p.m. Fireworks launched at 9 p.m.
