Fort Myers Designates SWFL Enterprise Center A Collection Point For Hurricane Relief Supplies
In an effort to help the Bahamas recover from Hurricane Dorian, the city has designated the SWFL Enterprise Center.
FORT MYERS, FL (Sept. 4, 2019) – In an effort to help the Bahamas recover from Hurricane Dorian, the city has designated the SWFL Enterprise Center, located at 3903 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, Fort Myers, as a collection point for hurricane relief supplies. Donations collected at the Enterprise Center will be combined with donated items from other drop-off points in Lee and Collier counties. The first shipment of items will leave on Thursday evening, September 5th.
The following items are needed:- Construction materials
- Rubbermaid tubs to place clean household items out of the water/mud
- Trash bags
- Leather work gloves
- Masks
- Tarps
- Para-cord ropes
- Non-perishable food
- Water
- Boxed milk
- Medical needs/Personal hygiene/Toiletries
- Personal care kits with toothbrushes
- Feminine hygiene products
- Toiletries
- First Aid supplies
- Hand sanitizer
- Advil, Tylenol, Motrin
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Baby supplies
- Diapers
- Baby wipes
- Survival supplies
- Mosquito nets/bug repellent
- Batteries
- Emergency/solar power lamps and lanterns
- Coolers for ice and medicine
- Air mattresses
- Paper supplies
- Box fans
- Flashlights
- Tents
- Candles and matches
- Cleaning supplies
- Mops, pails, bleach, Simple Green, disinfectants
Donations will be accepted from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. To make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to the Southwest Florida Community Foundation. Receipts will be provided, with 100% of the money going toward the relief effort.
