Hurricane Irma: Lee County Curfew Enacted

BREAKING: The curfew will start tonight and will be in effect daily until further notice.

LEE COUNTY, FL — Lee County has enacted a curfew that is set to begin at 8 p.m. Sunday night.

The curfew will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily until further notice.

"It applies to all cities as well as unincorporated areas," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "It prohibits all non-essential pedestrian and vehicular movement during those hours." Only those providing essential services are permitted to be out during the curfew. The curfew will be imposed by city police departments, the sheriff's office and additional law enforcement agencies.
