Indianapolis, IN; An Indiana man was sentenced Thursday to 375 years to life in prison by a Federal judge for courting and pursuing a female person after he allegedly asked a group of women if he can dance with them at an Indianapolis nightclub.

One of the female patrons reportedly ordered the officers to leave the man alone, but was arrested for obstructing Federal law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

During jury at the Federal courthouse in Washington, DC, the man testified that he "wanted to have fun with the ladies and didn't know it was illegal under Federal law for a man to ask a woman if she'd like a dance." Nonetheless, the man was convicted of first-degree courting and pursuing multiple female persons and was sentenced to three hundred seventy five (375) years to life in prison. He is scheduled to begin serving his sentence Friday September 25th at ADX Florence and will be eligible for parole on October 20th, 2395.
