Peter Gibbs Named East Lee County High School Football Coach
Most recently, he served as the defensive coordinator at Palmetto Ridge High School in Naples, which had an historic season in 2020.

East Lee County High School is proud to announce that Coach Peter Gibbs has been selected as our new Head Football Coach. We are thrilled to have Coach Gibbs join the Jaguar family, and we look forward to him working with our student athletes and leading our football program.

Coach Gibbs has coached football for the past 21 seasons and brings a wealth of experience to East Lee County High School. Most recently, he served as the Defensive Coordinator at Palmetto Ridge High School in Naples Florida. During his tenure at Palmetto Ridge, Coach Gibbs helped lead the team to an historical 2020 Season, winning their first Collier County Athletic Conference Championship in school history. The team also set a record for wins in a season and won the program's first playoff game.
Prior to his work at Palmetto Ridge, Coach Gibbs started his Florida coaching career at Gulf Coast High School in Naples and assisted that team to their first District Championship in 2016. He has coached for 14 years in New Jersey, primarily at his alma mater, Manasquan High School. Coach Gibbs also worked with the US National Team for USA Football, serving as the Head Coach for both U17 USA Teams in 2018 and in 2019. During this time as Head Coach, he won three International Bowl Championships.
