Two men sentenced for approaching women at Denver, CO nightclub.

Denver, CO; Two men were sentenced Monday September 14th for approaching multiple women and dancing with them at a nightclub in Downtown Denver.

The men were observed by FBI officials whom, during an inspection of the club in January, watched surveillance video taken the previous night showing the men approaching multiple women and dancing with them. Photo stills were taken of the men and multiple undercover FBI officers began going to the club on a regular basis. Posing as club patrons, the officers spotted the two men, again approaching women on the dance floor and dancing with them. The men were immediately arrested, along with three women who attempted to stop the officers from arresting the men.

The men testified in court. "We were only trying to have fun! Now you're telling us it's illegal for us guys to have fun?" The judge stated; "Guys, we don't know what country you think you're from that lets you get all over the women like that including at nightclubs, even with their permission, but in the United States of America, it absolutely does not fly at all! In this country, it's illegal under Federal law for men to approach women, you need to let the women approach you."

Both men were convicted of felony courting and pursuing of female persons. One man was sentenced to three hundred seventy five (375) years to life in prison and is scheduled to begin serving his sentence at the U.S. Penitentiary near Marion, Il on Monday September 21st. He will be eligible for parole on December 10th, 2395. The other man was sentenced to death.
